Nancy Ann Alden

Administrative Law Judge (Retired) | Social Security Administration

Nancy Ann Alden, a former administrative law judge with the Social Security Administration (SSA), accrued over 40 years of experience prior to retiring in 2015. Joining SSA in 1991, she served in Pasadena, California, for two years before fully committing to practice in Arizona. At the inception of her career, she was an attorney with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, in conjunction with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), after which she served in the same capacity with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. Ms. Alden subsequently served with EEOC before joining Frascona, McLough & Joiner in Boulder, Colorado, as an attorney for a decade. Returning to EEOC, she was a supervisory trial attorney for two years before thriving as a trial attorney for the Office of the Arizona Attorney General. Well-regarded for her work with Bond v. District Court in and for the County of Denver in 1984, Ms. Alden holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Colorado Law School. Equally invested in the arts, she completed a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Iowa, performed two concertos directed by the Phoenix Metropolitan Opera, and authored five short stories. Currently, she is dedicating her time to sculpting.

Lifetime Achievement Award

As a testament to her success in law, Ms. Alden was honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.

Worldwide Humanitarian Award

In light of her outstanding achievements, Ms. Alden earned the Worldwide Humanitarian Award from Marquis Who’s Who in 2023.

Ms. Alden was named to Who’s Who of Top Lawyers due to her breadth of knowledge in legal processes.
