Dr. Jewel Montgomery Smay is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist and medical administrator who has served as the president and chief executive officer of Montgomery Anesthesia Service since 2013. She was conferred a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2007 by the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed residencies in both general and pediatric anesthesiology before beginning her career as a provider. In addition to operating as an independent provider, Dr. Smay has seen pediatric patients within the St. John Health System, the Hillcrest Healthcare System, and University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

In 2020, Dr. Smay moved into an administrative leadership role as medical director of NorthStar Anesthesia, rising to regional medical director before stepping down in 2023. She considers her time with NorthStar to be among her proudest professional achievements and plans to pursue a C-level executive role or Fortune 500 board position in the coming years. To this end, she completed a Master of Business Administration in health sector management from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business in 2023.
