Dr. Albert Chin is a surgeon and mechanical engineer who has dedicated his career to creating innovation in the medical device industry. He holds holds 238 United States patents for devices including the PercAssist eVAD™ system, an experimental mechanical circulatory support system that he considers one of his greatest breakthroughs. He was awarded a Doctor of Medicine by the University of California San Francisco in 1983 and participated in a residency in surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Throughout his career, he has founded ten medical technology companies and remains active as chief innovation officer at Orare Medsystems, FemDx Medsystems, TAS Medical, and PercAssist.
As a leader in his specialty, Dr. Chin sits on the advisory boards of Emory University and the Georgia Institute of
Technology and has received awards from Stanford University, MIT, and the Boston Patent Law Association, among others. He looks forward to continuing his work with a focus on cardiology care and emphasizes that numerous opportunities still exist to create positive change for patients and providers.
