A pivotal figure in psychology education and an award-winning psychologist, Dr. Allan P. Gold garnered more than 47 years’ experience before retiring in 2023. Serving the Reed Union School District in Tiburon, California, between 1976 and 2023 as a district psychologist, he maintained responsibility for organizing counseling groups for children coping with stressful life events, including parental divorce or illness, special needs siblings, and poor socialization skills, among other situations. While at the Reed Union School District, he founded the TEA Club, a schoolwide organization that taught children the values of diversity, acceptance and inclusion during their lunch periods, and the Gender Sexuality Alliance, a student organization advocating for safe spaces for students to discuss sexual orientation and gender identity. Among his myriad of achievements, he is noteworthy for serving as chairman of the board of Being Adept from 2017 to 2021, a nonprofit organization that educated students on substance abuse. Dr. Gold earned Outstanding School Psychologist Awards from the California Association of School Psychologists in 1991 and 2017, among other accolades, and holds a Doctor of Philosophy in educational psychology from the University of California Berkeley. He is recognized as a nationally certified school psychologist (NCSP).
