Anna Yeung Mayo is a retired information technology developer and performing arts professional celebrating more than 35 years of diverse success. A lifelong learner, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University and a Master of Arts in Asian art from the University of the Pacific, and is currently pursuing doctoral coursework in psychology and counseling. Inspired by her father, an artist and colonel in the United States Air Force, Ms. Mayo spent 20 years serving as a medic, including service during Operation Desert Storm and administrative work establishing the first on-base medical library. Driven by a desire to overcome obstacles to success in a male-domianted field, Ms. Mayo learned programming and joined the California Department of Consumer Affairs as an information technology developer and consultant in 2003 and continued to excel until her retirement in 2021. Throughout her career, Ms. Mayo has been a passionate advocate for Asian art and the performing arts, award-winning professional videography work and broadcast production for numerous media outlets, violin performance, and the first East/West Music Program, a co-production with the Sacramento Symphony. She remains active in community leadership and arts programs, and hopes to continue to perform and produce art.
