Anna Shadoin Rickell is a licensed clinical social worker who has provided group and individual counseling services in private practice for nearly five decades. She holds a Master of Social Work from Columbia University and began working with clients in 1969. For the next decade, she worked with clients in individual and group settings in addition to serving as a caseworker for a San Francisco-area family service organization. Ms. Rickell established a private practice in 1979 and had provided a broad range of therapeutic services including psychoanalysis, clinical hypnosis, group therapy, and consulting.

Throughout her career, Ms. Rickell has remained focused on service and outreach, running debriefings and grief counseling groups at FIrst Presbyterian Church and serving as ethics chair of the South Carolina chapter of the American Board of Clinical Social Work. Previously, she provided services to patients relocating after Hurricane Katrina, a project she considers one of her proudest. In recognition of her dedication to excellence, Ms. Rickell has received numerous awards and citations including a certificate of appreciation from the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Organization..
