Barry Kent Fingerhut

Barry Kent Fingerhut is the CEO of Certification Partners and a leader in venture capital investment and educational technology. He began his career in the finance sector in the 1970s before founding Geocapital Corp. in 1981, building the company to a portfolio value of more than $2.5 billion in managed assets at the time of its sale. During the 1990s, he concurrently managed Wheatley Partners, a firm specializing in technology venture capital projects. Mr. Fingerhut has held numerous board leadership roles throughout his career, including more than 15 years as chair of Yourtango.

Since 2010, he has focused on his work with Certification Partners, an educational tech venture that has issued more than 300,000 certifications for over two million courses since its creation. His focus on education and job creation extends to his work with Job Corps, overseeing its Jacksonville, Florida center and a cybersecurity training partnership. In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Fingerhut is active in philanthropy and has authored ten books, most recently “The Power of Verse” and “Rome at the Time of the Emperor Trajan.”
