Charlene Fried holds distinction in the field of academia as an English/ELD educator, writing coach and literacy advocate. She is an ELD/English instructor at Sierra Vista High School, a lecturer B at California State University, Los Angeles, and an adjunct professor at Loyola Marymount University. At these universities, she passionately works with teaching credential candidates, teaching language methodology, classroom management, cultural awareness, and ways to promote equity in education for everyone. Ms. Fried was named the Woman Educator of the Year by California Senator Susan Rubio in 2023, among a myriad of other accolades, and was published in several magazines, newspapers and media outlets for her linguistic prowess. In 2022, the Baldwin Park Unified School District named the Sierra Vista High School library in her honor, titled the Charlene Fried Library. She has traveled across the globe to teach and learn from multilingual children the importance and value of their languages, cultures, traditions and stories. She drove from Los Angeles to Brazil and traveled all over Asia to hear the stories of the people and share them with her students. Ms. Fried believes that people’s stories define who they are and empower them to accomplish their dreams.
To attest to her success and longevity in the field, Ms. Fried was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who.
In light of her outstanding educational prowess, Ms. Fried was named to Who’s Who of Professional Women in 2024.
Distinguished for her expertise, Ms. Fried was highlighted among Who’s Who of Top Educators.
Amassing many honors, Ms. Fried was the recipient of the Distinguished Humanitarian Award from Marquis Who’s Who.
Inducted into the Marquis Who’s Who registry in 2023, Ms. Fried was cited for her accomplishments in the field of education.
