Specializing in general practice and forensic dentistry, Dr. Daniel E. Jolly is highly regarded as the chief forensic odontologist for Franklin and Licking Counties, Ohio. He also lends his knowledge to the public as an expert witness and legal consultant in trials. At the inception of his career, Dr. Jolly worked for a private dentistry practice in Newcastle, Wyoming, before accepting a teaching appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). He also assumed the role of chief of restorative dentistry at Truman Medical Center. Among other positions, he was the director of the general practice residency program, associate professor and full professor at The Ohio State University between 1987 and 2008 and past president of ImmediaDent of Ohio. Serving his community, he has also been the director of the Honduras Clinic Project since 1992. Dr. Jolly holds a DDS from UMKC and is a diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. Authoring such publications as “OSU Manual of Hospital Dentistry,” “Nursing Home Dentistry” and “Hospital Dentistry,” he is the namesake of a scholarship fund at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He earned the Ohio Dental Association Humanitarian Award and several Alumni Achievement Awards from UMKC.
