Currently retired after a longstanding tenure in education, Darlene Lambert Netzer formerly served as the chairperson of the English department and a secondary Montessori educator at the Franciscan Montessori Earth School in Portland, Oregon. As part of her responsibilities, Ms. Netzer is particularly proud of designing and teaching a writing workshop at the school, which integrated assignments from other school subjects to provide a comprehensive overview of educational material. During her tenure, she was highly regarded among colleagues and students alike, having forged close bonds with individuals in light of her advocacy of continuous education. Earlier in her career, Ms. Netzer served as an English as a Second Language educator at Lower Columbia College and a teacher in Lake Oswego, Oregon. In addition, throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she was a specialty class educator and coordinator at The Washington Teen Institute, where she was instrumental in not only educating teenagers about the effects of illicit drugs but also offering helpful guidance and resources. Ms. Netzer holds a Master of Education in Montessori education from Loyola University Maryland, completed in 1998. She also earned a Life Teaching Certification in English in the State of California at Holy Names University in 1971, among other credentials.
Ms. Netzer’s accomplishments during her career in education were documented in a comprehensive legacy video by Marquis Who’s Who.
In light of her educational prowess, Ms. Netzer was listed on the Who’s Who of Professional Women website.
