David S. Warren

Director of Risk Identification | Royal Bank of Canada

For more than 20 years, David S. Warren has found success in the financial services sector as a compliance and risk identification expert. Since 2024, he has been the director of risk identification at the Royal Bank of Canada, building on his achievements as an executive at First Citizens Bank, Silicon Valley Bank, Capital One, and Wells Fargo. He holds a Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School and studied international comparative law at Keio University Law School before beginning his career with Capital One in 2011 as a compliance analyst. In addition to his work in finance, Mr. Warren co-owned Doc’s Socks from 2009 until 2018. 

Mr. Warren’s accomplishments in his field include significant contributions to the development of Capital One’s natural language processing search engine and spearheading an overhaul of management processes at Silicon Valley Bank. As a part of his dedication to growth, he has been a longtime member of the American Bankers Association and the Risk Management Association, and in 2023 he completed an executive Master of Business Administration at the Quantic School of Business and Technology.
