Dr. Ella M. McElwee is the founder and director of Health By Choice, where she has provided naturopathic health services and counseling since 1985. She began her healthcare career as a nurse in the 1960s and pursued holistic medicine after seeing significant changes in her health after changing her diet and lifestyle. Dr. McElwee studied in London, earning a degree in naturopathy and homeopathy in 1969, and continued her education through the next decade, completing a Doctor of Philosophy in natural sciences in 1972 and an HmD in 1975. In 2020, she graduated from the prestigious International Academy of Classical Homeopathy.

Dr. McElwee offers customized programs to help clients achieve wellness goals, including nutritional support, diagnostic testing, and naturopathic medicine. She is proud to be able to help her clients change their lives and feel a sense of agency over their health, and she hopes to work with an established naturopathic school to open additional locations and integrative health clinics in the coming years. Outside her clinical practice, Dr. McElwee is a noted speaker and consultant in her field.
