Educator, Founder & Executive Director | Alliance Junior Development Program Inc.

Ms. Moore is a retired physical education teacher who has brought her expertise to her work as the founder and executive director of the Alliance Junior Development Program, Inc. Founded in 1975, the Alliance Junior Development Program, Inc. teaches children tennis skills, structure, discipline, and personal accountability, and has seen numerous past participants attend college on tennis scholarships. In 2019, Ms. Moore retired from her position teaching physical education at Ulysses Byas Elementary School, where she led classes and developed curriculum, and coaching varsity-level tennis players. She holds a Bachelor of Science in physical education from Morgan State University and a Master of Science in education and counseling from Hofstra University, and returned to Morgan State University in 2015, earning a doctoral degree with honors. Ms. Moore has been active in community advocacy throughout her life, serving with the Peace Corps in Nigeria, being arrested during civil rights protests at Morgan State, and traveling to Puerto Rico, France, and Tanzania on humanitarian programs. She is the author of a book of poetry, “Just Like It Is,” and has been honored with dozens of awards and citations, including her 2021 induction into the Eastern Hall of Fame.
