Howard J. Peters, OD is a retired optometrist and author with more than 40 years of dedication to his patients and profession. Inspired to pursue a career in optometry by his uncle, a pioneer in the field, Dr. Peters earned a Doctor of Optometry degree at Northampton College in 1961. Dr. Peters began his career with the UK-based Dolland & Aitchison Ltd., before relocating to the United States, where he maintained a practice specializing in refractive surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Peters owned three independent optometry practices including Eye Q, where he practiced until his retirement from optometry. Since his retirement, Dr. Peters has shifted his focus to building a career in political writing and genre fiction. He is the author of “Download: An Alternative Story of Noah and his Ark,” 2007, a retelling of the Biblical tale, and is currently working on a sequel, “Upload,” a science fiction alternate future in the same vein. Dr. Peters is a lifetime fellow of the College of Optometrists and has been an in-demand speaker on numerous topics.
