Ms. Zubcevic is a diplomat whose career has focused on global sustainable development work, including service as director 1 of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Office of Intergovernmental Support and Coordination for Sustainable Development and Ocean and Climate branch. She began her career in the early 1990s as an advisor for the Croatian Ministry of Information and head of the Croatian News Agency’s English-language news service and was named a minister and plenipotentiary for the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992. Ms. Zubcevic joined the United Nations in 2008 as a senior sustainable development officer and worked with a core group from the UN Secretariat to develop frameworks for sustainable and intersectional global economic growth benchmarks, a project she considers a career highlight. Ms. Zubcevic is extensively published, has authored several UN Global Sustainable Development Reports, and is the recipient of a UN certificate of appreciation for dedicated service for her focus on development. She credits her success to her passion for her work and her belief in the power of sustainable growth to help humanity and looks forward to continuing to focus on helping others and effecting change.
