James R. Eigenberg currently serves as a Jackson County commissioner in Jackson, Minnesota. While many accomplishments are associated with the board, there are two notable recent efforts. The first is the construction of a jail/government center, while the second is the flood recovery from the early summer of 2024. Other ongoing, long-term projects have been the carbon pipeline proposed to go through Jackson County, as well as wind production and managing the county’s ditch systems. Besides serving as an elected official, Mr. Eigenberg still plays an active role on the family farm, raising corn and soybeans. He is also married with three children. Prior to serving as a county commissioner, Mr. Eigenberg was a director on the New Vision Co-op Board for nine years. After graduating from high school, he attended Worthington Community College, studying agriculture. Earlier in his career, Mr. Eigenberg worked for a family business called Kirchner Wheel Inc., which specialized in agriculture wheels, specifically, dual wheels on combines. Notably, sales and distribution exposed him to extensive traveling. Looking forward, Mr. Eigenberg has decided not to run for another term to spend more time with the farm and his family.
As a testament to his success and career longevity, Mr. Eigenberg’s achievements were documented in a comprehensive newsletter by Marquis Who’s Who.
Mr. Eigenberg’s career journey in local government and agriculture was detailed on the Who’s Who of Top Executives website.
