Dr. James Eyerman is the director of the Transpersonal Institute of San Francisco, where he has cultivated an integrative practice specializing in psychopharmacology, holotropic breathwork, and therapy since 2005. He celebrates nearly five decades of clinical practice and research with an emphasis in cutting-edge modalities including ketamine therapy, EMDR, and hypnosis, and contributed to a groundbreaking study on the efficacy of holotropic breathwork. He has maintained a private practice for more than 20 years and concurrently serves as a member of staff at La Cheim, Inc. and Napa State Hospital. 

Prior to his current roles, Dr. Eyerman has held clinical leadership positions with the Masters and Johnson Institute, the Maharishi Ayurveda Medical Center, and the Epworth Children’s Home, among others. He is a former assistant professor at the University of Southern California and has consulted for St. Louis University in addition to having published extensively in professional journals. Dr. Eyerman looks forward to continuing to expand the limits of integrative psychiatric care and plans to include trance, dance, and creative therapies into his practice in the future.
