Joel Aronson retired in 2019 after more than 45 years as a clinical pharmacist serving patients and staff in hospital settings. Inspired by a childhood love for chemistry and a desire to help others, Mr. Aronson attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Pharmacy, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1972. He began his career at Boston City Hospital in 1974 and remained on staff following its acquisition by Boston Medical Center, where he remained until 2002. In 2004, Mr. Aronson became a staff hospital pharmacist for the VA Medical Center of Boston, rising to become a clinical pharmacy specialist in 2011. At the VA Medical Center, Mr. Aronson specialized in inpatient dispensing and counseling, and worked alongside hospital administrators to coordinate weekend and evening staff schedules in addition to training volunteers, new staff, and pharmacy residents. He was recognized for his dedication to patients with a VAMC I Care Pin and has been previously recognized as a Marquis Who’s Who Worldwide Humanitarian, a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Leader, and a Marquis Top Professional. Mr. Aronson attributes his success to his compassion and listening skills, and remains proud of his commitment to care and attention to detail.
