Kenneth O. Preston

Senior Fellow | Association of the United States Army

Recognized as a distinguished veteran, Kenneth O. Preston has accrued nearly 50 years of expertise in military service since beginning his career in 1975. Formerly serving with the United States Army between 1975 and 2011, he attained the rank of sergeant major prior to retiring. In his post-retirement years, he has served with the Association of the United States Army in a myriad of positions, including as a director and vice president of NCO and soldier programs from 2013 to 2019. Currently, he operates as a senior fellow. While pursuing his service in the United States Army, Mr. Preston excelled as a command sergeant major of numerous units, such as the 3rd “Greywolf” Brigade of the 1st Cavalry Division and the Combined Joint Task Force 7 and V Corps. To commemorate his achievements, he received the George C. Marshall Award from the Association of the United States Army. Most recently, he earned the Armor School Legends and Armor Award (The Chaffee Award) in 2023. Mr. Preston holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Trident University International. He credits his career success to the influence and mentorship of fellow leaders in his field.
