Mr. Herman is the owner and manager of the award-winning Exposures International Gallery of Fine Art, which has been named the Best Gallery in Arizona, the Best Gallery in Sedona, and one of the 25 Best American Galleries and Museums. Since 1996, he has built Exposures from a small, local gallery into an industry powerhouse known for its artist relationships and world-class staff. Before entering the art world, Mr. Herman enjoyed a career in marketing and corporate leadership, serving as a marketing manager for Pacific Stereo and executive vice president of University Stereo through the 1970s, president of JAM Advertising from 1977 until 1980, and vice president of marketing for Inference Corporation from 1983 until 1984. During the early 1980s, Mr. Herman additionally served as the head swim coach for the Special Olympics. After retiring from marketing at age 35, he spent six years as a sea captain for World Travelers, a period that proved to be a major influence on his work as a gallerist and his move to the Sedona area. Mr. Herman credits his success to the relationships he has cultivated and the gallery’s ability to celebrate and support unique artists, and he looks forward to continuing to grow.
