Nanette L. Yabiku is an academic coach at Juliet Thorner Elementary School and the CEO and owner of Nanette Yabiku Coaching, LLC. Ms. Yabiku celebrates more than four decades of expertise in education, including 35 years as a classroom teacher. Since 2016, she has focused on coaching and curriculum development in addition to working as a special education facilitator, where her work ensures that parents, specialists, and teachers work together to provide student evaluations and accommodations. Ms. Yabiku holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Sonoma State University and completed a Master’s degree at Point Loma Nazarene University in 2018 in addition to DISC and coaching credentials from the John Maxwell Team. She considers teaching to be her true calling, and is proud to help facilitate student and staff growth as a coach. Ms. Yabiku has received awards from the Bakersfield City School District for accountability and educational development, in addition to honors from the American Heart Association for raising more than $100,000 in donations. In the coming years, Ms. Yabiku hopes to retire from public schools to share her experience with clients as an independent consultant and leadership coach.
