Paula McDonald is the founder and managing director of Paula McDonald Design Build & Interiors, a luxury contracting firm that has offered its New York City clients comprehensive, vertically integrated residential remodeling services since 2008. Leveraging her background in business and accounting and a lifelong passion for the fine arts, Ms. McDonald’s portfolio includes high-end penthouse and co-op projects, second homes, and historic buildings.

Ms. McDonald credits her success to her entrepreneurial spirit and 35 years as a Manhattan resident and considers her nontraditional journey to a career in architecture one of her greatest strengths. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and the National Kitchen and Bath Association and is a proud volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the coming years, she looks forward to expanding her staff to include ten people, and she remains optimistic about the industry’s future despite the many changes it has undergone over the course of her career.
