Leveraging 10 years of experience, Prasanna Vijayanathan is an illustrious name in engineering. Currently, he is an E5 software engineer for Netflix. Earlier, he served LinkedIn as a staff software engineer and software engineering manager. Additionally, he spent time cultivating his skills with Qualcomm and Blackberry. He contributes to publications on social networking and distributed computing, has also filed for and been awarded patents in automation and AI, and has delivered talks as a keynote speaker and chair at conferences in AI and technology. Holding a Bachelor of Technology in information technology from Anna University and a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Florida, he passionately cares about creating equity in society, focusing on education. To effectuate them, he is an executive board member and chair of the technical committee for SPEAKHIRE, which aims to better the social capital of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. He volunteers as a mentor for Everwise and Women Entering and Staying in Technology, having been an integral member of LinkedIn’s REACH and Women in Technology programs. Attributing his success to the influence of his family and friends, he endeavors to continue contributing to community projects. Ultimately, he wishes to give back through volunteering and mentoring emerging leaders.
