Dr. Rita Curl-Langager is an author and professor emeritus in the department of addiction studies, psychology, and social work at Minot State University, where she taught for 27 years. A noted developmental psychologist, she holds a Doctor of Philosophy in developmental and child psychology from the University of Kansas and began her career in the 1970s as a preschool teacher and behavior management interventionist while continuing research and completing her studies. Throughout her career, she has been affiliated with the University of Kansas, the University of Illinois, Utah State University, and the University of Washington while conducting applied research with children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Curl-Langager has published and spoken extensively on topics in human development, vocational training, and education and is a grantee of the United States Department of Education and the United States Department of Health and Human Services. She has written support materials for widely-adopted textbooks and is the author of “Adulthood: An Introduction,” which she hopes to revise into a second edition in the coming years.
