Ms. Cooper is an attorney with more than 35 years of expertise in her field. Since 2001, she has been an attorney with Cooper and Associates, where her practice focuses on employment, matrimonial, and intellectual property law as well as the fine and performing arts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts in chamber music from Sarah Lawrence College and began her career as an award-winning concert pianist and educator before transitioning into the legal field. Ms. Cooper earned her Juris Doctor at Yeshiva University in 1986, and clerked for the Honorable Jack B. Weinstein of the Eastern District of New York before becoming an associate of Edward & Angell in 1986 and Burrows, Poster & Franzblau in 1988. Between 1990 and 1995, Ms. Cooper was an associate of Janvey Gordon, and she remained of counsel to Moses & Singer LLP until joining Cooper & Associates in 2001. Active in her community, Ms. Cooper is an ex officio member of the Sarah Lawrence College External Affairs Committee and former member of the school’s Board of Trustees, and serves as counsel to the New York Film and Video Council and chair of her Tenant’s Association. In the coming years, she looks forward to continuing her legal practice and beginning work on a book.
