Vincent W. Allen, the managing director of VAAV Industries, draws upon 30 years’ experience in technology and media production. Since founding VAAV Industries in 2021, he has leveraged his advanced skillset to reinvent and invigorate broadcast media and audio-visual professions, as well as further the success of the next generation of artists and technologists. Earlier in his career, Mr. Allen served as a lighting and sound technician at The Hangout in Fairhope, Alabama, and co-founded JDTV in Juneau, Alaska. From there, he served with the information technology and media services departments at KATH-TV and the University of Alaska, where he created content that earned KATH-TV the Goldie Award from the Alaska Broadcasters Association on three occasions. Likewise, during his tenure with the University of Alaska, he helped to build and operate one of the first live-streaming studios. Mr. Allen and his team were featured in USA Today for their work on the Weight Watchers studio interface and were nominated for three Webby Awards. Looking forward, he aims to develop tools to increase remote work efficiency, which will transform VAAV Industries into a broadcasting and technology leader worldwide. Mr. Allen was awarded an honorary doctorate in professional studies from Universidad Azteca.
