Dr. Wava Truscott is a biomedical regulation and manufacturing expert and the co-founder of Shield Technology Inc., where she serves as director of regulatory affairs and clinical education. Dr. Truscott holds a Doctor of Philosophy in comparative pathology from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, and has dedicated her career to advancing clinical technology and infection prevention through manufacturing efficiency and provider education. She is the former director of scientific affairs for Kimberly-Clark Health, serving from 2000 until 2020, and is the president of Truscott MedSci Associates, LLC, in addition to her responsibilities with Shield Technology.
Dr. Truscott takes an active role in product development, analysis, and compliance and is key in developing educational material and online courses for Shield Technology. She is proud to have played a pivotal role in creating processes to reduce patient exposure to surgical glove powder and in working with partner companies to create solutions to accommodate latex allergies. She looks forward to continuing to innovate with an emphasis on promoting American manufacturing and design and hopes to drive developments that will provide an even greater level of patient and provider safety.
