Dr. Wesley Vinton Hromatko is an ordained Unitarian Universalist (UU) minister and speaker for the TriState Unitarian Universalist Congregations of South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa, a role he has held for more than 35 years. He found his calling to ministry at an early age after working with youth group counselors at a summer camp, and in 2023 he celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination. Dr. Hromatko holds a Doctor of Ministry from the Meadville Lombard Theological School and began his pastoral career in 1972. He has ministered to congregations in Massachusetts, Indiana and Illinois and spent his early career in community leadership as a fire department chaplain, Boston-area UU religious education director, and member of the Protestant social services bureau.
Dr. Hromatko has written and spoken extensively on topics in faith and faith formation in addition to contributing to articles on midcentury American literature. He has continued his community involvement to the present as a member of the Murray County Historical Society and Minnesota DFL Party, and has attended the UU Church General Assembly as a delegate, among other appointments.
