A widely recognized public figure, Dr. Willie Johnson Jr. has served as the second district supervisor of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors since 2022, drawing upon over two decades of experience in public office. Now in his eighth term, he was first elected as the county supervisor of the 13^th district in 2000. Over the course of his career, he has served the needs of 52,000 constituents within the realm of economic and community development. Previously, Dr. Johnson served as a financial assistance worker and social worker with the Financial Assistance and Child Welfare Divisions of the Milwaukee County Department of Human Services. Additionally, he volunteered with the Milwaukee Minority Chamber of Commerce, assisting minority-owned businesses in receiving certification for the City of Milwaukee’s Minority Business Enterprise Program. Dr. Johnson was named a Minority Small Business Champion by the U.S. Small Business Administration in 2015 and received the Golden Shovel Award from WISDOT in 2010 and the Merit Award from the Milwaukee County Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program in 2001, among other accolades. He holds a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in humanities from the Wisconsin University of Theology and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University.
