Specializing in anesthetic nursing, Winnette Warren served as a corporate owner of Anesthesia by Musa, P.C. from 2002 until her retirement in 2013, through which she exemplified leadership as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). Endeavoring to enter the health care industry to provide for her child more than five decades ago, she first served as a dietary aide and a vocational nurse at the Baylor University Medical Center in the 1960s, then became a registered nurse in 1970. Completing nurse anesthesia training at the Charity Hospital School of Anesthesia for Nurses in 1975, she went on to serve as a CRNA at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, between 1975 and 1978. From there, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Nurses Corps, advancing to the rank of major before departing from the military in 1998. Receiving many military decorations, including a Commendation Medal and three Meritorious Service Medals, Ms. Warren underwent coursework at the Squadron Officer School, the Air Command and Staff College, and the Air War College. She also received a Bachelor of Arts from Ottawa University in 1980 and a Master of Science in human resource management from Troy State University in 1992.
